Here’s the thing with me, if I read just one book, or I start a book that’s been on my tbr for a while, or I read a book I really like, that’s a good reading month for me. I loved the first book, I loved Hades and this intensity and passion, a very genuine hero which I know will leave a mark. She Reads Romance Books helps romance book lovers find their next book boyfriend because life is better with a love story.

Desperate, she takes matters into her own hands, striking bargains that lead to severe consequences. I have waited a long time for her to grow, mature and became the Queen she needs to be, can’t say that I love her as much I loved Hades, but we see an improvement and I really enjoyed it. There are three main storylines happening in tandem during this instalment in the series; Zeus deciding whether to agree to let Hades and Persephone get married, Demeter plunging New Greece into a dangerous snow storm, and the ongoing threat of Triad and the Demigods who are getting restless over what they think is the Greek gods tyrannical rule.Although I should’ve learned this last year with A Court of Thorns and Roses or Throne of Glass, but I was less serious about being bookish last year.

It will obviously feature a little bit of overlap, but flipping between the two series will offer more enlightenment to events with both perspectives while maintaining some of the suspense for the larger storyline. I thought Hermes was so brilliant, and Thanatos made such an impact, even though he was only in it for a short time. Hopefully her next Hades book, which would be his pov of A Touch of Malice will come out way before then so I can get my fix. I don’t have any problem in reading this type of scenes, but when they are purely physicals and lack essence, I consider them useless for the plot. It's also time to retire a dynamic where one party (usually the woman) says something that implies she isn't interested, and the other party (usually the man) "sees past" her protests to what she "really wants" and informs her of her own desires. His love and kind of obsession for Persephone will lead to a lot of adventures and casualties, but considering how much he was been waiting for her, I think everything was worth it.

I’m not completely sold on the fact that after millennia of being a god and acting how he has, Persephone does like, three things, and Apollo decides he wants to change? Fry has such an entertaining way of retelling the myths but making them feel new - and, his somewhat linear narrative of the foundational Greek myths in Mythos is truly a massive feat. In the last, maybe 2 chapters did I begin to actually warm to Persephone, but I don’t think she actually learned from any of her mistakes? I wish we had gotten that earlier in the story (probably around the middle) so it makes it so much easier to bond with him. I might be dreaming, but I’m about to live out one of my top five fantasies—” Hades slapped the god, who looked shocked.

Hopefully I have given you everything you could possibly need to start your journey with Greek mythology! This book was full of smaller story lines, and introduced a few moving pieces which will surely climax (no pun intended) in the final instalment of this series.
